Continental Insurance Brokers Limited (CIB) was founded in 2003, at the very beginning of the Chinese brokerage market, by the company’s current chairman Mr. Xun Dai and CIB’s Managing Director, Mr. Alan Y. Zhang.

With headquarters in Beijing and a strong service-oriented philosophy the firm very quickly developed into a leading independent insurance and reinsurance broker. The company’s reputation has grown along with it and today CIB is well respected not only by its direct customers but equally by all local insurers and reinsurers.

In 2007 CIB operates out of its offices in Beijing, Shanghai, Shenzhen, Chengdu, Kunming and Ningbo in order to service clients all over China.

CIB provides full insurance products and services to its customers, including risk consulting, insurance arrangement, claim services, reinsurance, etc. In addition to traditional Property & Casualty, CIB offers substantial expertise in speciality areas like aviation, energy, oil & gas, petrochemical, utilities, marine (cargo, hull and liability), and specialty casualty such as D&O, PI etc. It also has expertise in some niche products (fine art, financial risk, etc.).

CIB has stable connections with many insurance organisations operating in Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia, Korea, US, Europe, London etc. In addition, CIB as been accredited by many international reinsurers, such as Swiss Re, AIG, Hannover Re etc. and many Lloyds brokers.

Company Chairman Mr. Xun Dai joined the insurance industry over 13 years ago, starting his career in PICC. Before joining the insurance broking industry in 2001, Mr. Dai worked in PICC as Deputy General Manager of PICC Suzhou Branch.

As Co-founder, Mr. Alan Y. Zhang prepared and established CIB together with Mr. Dai in 2003. Mr. Zhang also has over 12 years experience in the insurance industry. Before joining the broking industry in 1996, Mr. Zhang worked for three years in the PICC Head Office.

In March 2007, Mr. Paul S.K. Lam, who already had a longstanding relationship with UNiBA Partners, accepted the invitation to join CIB as its Technical Director. Paul Lam has been working in risk and insurance management since 1969, with extensive experience in the Asian and North American insurance markets.
