Founded in 1929, Collins and Associates Corporation is a fourth generation property and casualty firm with primary partners, R. Parke Collins, II, CIC, LIC, CRM, Michelle Collins, CIC CISR, CPIA, and Aaron Symonds, CAWC. 

The company’s headquarters in Grand Rapids, MI, specializes in large, complex accounts and risk management. 

Specifically, the Collins Alternative Market Division will evaluate guaranteed cost, large deductible, self insurance and member owned captive insurance programs using a team approach to the risk management process.  The team consists of experienced and credentialed Risk Finance professionals, Account Management professionals, Risk Control engineers and Claims Management specialists.  The team partners closely with management to identify the total cost of risk and drive down loss costs where possible.

The risk control team will also unbundle services and has expertise in large manufacturing, construction, distribution and the oil and gas sectors.

The company also has three offices located in Northern Michigan (Kingsley, Harbor Springs and Indian River) which handle personal lines and small commercial business. 

In 2022, Collins and Associates entered into a joint venture agreement with Edge Insurance Partners for employee benefits placements.
